How to read the map

Zero gamma

The price where dealers’ net gamma changes sign. Above it they are long gamma and their hedging tends to damp moves; below it they are short gamma and hedging tends to amplify them.

Call wall

The level with the largest positive gamma exposure. Dealer hedging around it often slows a rally, so it is widely watched as resistance.

Put wall

The level with the most negative gamma exposure, widely watched as support. A clean break through it can push the market into short-gamma territory.

Regime

Net dealer gamma in billions of dollars per 1% move. Long gamma means moves tend to be dampened; short gamma means they tend to be amplified.

These are proxy levels: ETF option gamma is not identical to futures gamma, so the map is best used for the big flip and walls rather than every strike. Each future is anchored to its live price at run time, which corrects the basis through quarterly rolls.
